SESSIONS
The event will contain a variety of parallel sessions as well as static content by IUFRO Units, Task Forces and Member Organizations. Furthermore, the IUFRO WORLD DAY will include three “Science Informs Policy” webinars on overarching forest research topics, one in each time zone, and three “About IUFRO” networking sessions, one in each time zone. Members of the global IUFRO network will show and share forest-related research work, projects, news and more.
In each of the three time zone groups there will be presentations by IUFRO Research Units and IUFRO Member Organizations.These parallel sessions will take place throughout the whole event (except for the "prime time" in each region that is reserved for the networking sessions and policy forums). The sessions will contain a variety of information including:

These presentations on topics related to forest, trees and forest products research could be live or recorded sessions or webinars, live or recorded talks or interviews, videos, slides or posters showing activities, announcements, publications etc. Live sessions, publications and other interesting information can be explored through our interactive map.

The three "Lunch with IUFRO" sessions (one per time zone group) will allow participants to learn more about IUFRO and what it does, find out how to get involved, meet peers, make new acquaintances and talk with experienced scientists. This element offers an opportunity to meet with the leadership and interact with IUFRO Coordinators.
All three sessions last for two hours each and are organized in the “prime time” of each region (12:00 - 14:00 pm mid-region time). There is no overlap with other live events during the two hours (no live events by units or members).

SCIENCE POLICY FORUMs
Cutting edge research and emerging issues of relevancy for policy and decision makers as well as new and promising approaches to global challenges will be discussed.
The IUFRO World Day will comprise three Science Policy Forums, one in each time zone group. All three sessions last for 1,5 hours each and are organized in the “prime time” of each region following the networking sessions (14:00 - 15:30 pm mid-region time). There is no overlap with other live events during the 1,5 hours (no live events by units or members)
